Now Hiring: After Care Teacher's Assistant / Aide & Substitute
Part-Time | Peace Rose Montessori School | Sayreville, NJ
Are you energetic, nurturing, and love spending time with children? We are looking for a responsible and caring individual to join our After Care team!
Schedule:
• Monday – Friday, 1:45 PM – 6:00 PM
• On Early Dismissal Days: 11:45 AM – 6:00 PM
• Must be 18 or older
What You'll Do:
After Care Responsibilities:
• Plan and assist lead teacher with a warm, engaging afternoon program including music and movement, outdoor play, crafts, storytelling, art, and games
• Create weekly and seasonal art projects
• Actively interact and play alongside children: building with LEGOs, dancing, reading stories, or playing board games
• Greet families warmly at pick-up time
• Serve as a liaison between parents and the lead teacher, communicating any important information from the day
• Keep afternoon teachers informed of any After Care updates via note, phone, email, or text
• Assist with cleaning and preparing classrooms and restrooms for the following day
During School Hours/Substitute Coverage:
• Support the lead teacher with classroom activities, child care, and classroom management
• Help maintain a tidy and organized classroom environment
• Step in to cover classrooms as needed throughout the school
What We're Looking For:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 or older
• Experience working with young children preferred (babysitting, childcare, or parenting experience counts!)
• Reliable, flexible, and patient with a genuine love for children
